Botox

Physician-precision wrinkle relaxation with natural expression preserved

Botox is an FDA-approved neuromodulator injection that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for dynamic facial lines — the wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions such as squinting, raising the brows, or smiling. At Dr. Honrado's practice, all neuromodulator treatments are administered with surgical-level anatomical precision.

Treatment Overview

Session Time

Treatment is performed in-office without anesthesia. Most sessions take 15–30 minutes. No downtime is required.

Downtime

Minimal. Most patients return to normal activities immediately. Bruising may occasionally occur at injection sites.

Results Timeline

Results typically appear within 3–5 days and reach full effect at 2 weeks. Duration varies by individual but typically lasts 3–4 months.

What It Does

Botox blocks the signal between nerves and targeted facial muscles, causing controlled relaxation of the muscle and a smoothing of the overlying skin. Common treatment areas include forehead horizontal lines, glabellar lines (between the brows), crow's feet around the eyes, bunny lines on the nose, lip lines, chin dimpling, neck bands (platysmal bands), and brow lifting.

How It Works

Botulinum toxin type A (the active ingredient in Botox) is injected in precise microdoses into specific facial muscles using a fine needle. The protein selectively blocks acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, temporarily preventing the muscle from contracting. The effect typically begins within three to five days and reaches full effect in two weeks.
