“Precision nasal refinement balancing form and function”
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose — including the bone, cartilage, and soft tissue — to improve proportion and function. It is one of the most technically demanding procedures in facial plastic surgery. In Beverly Hills and Century City, Dr. Carlo Honrado performs rhinoplasty using piezotome ultrasonic technology for precise nasal bone work with minimized soft tissue trauma. Candidacy is evaluated during a formal consultation based on anatomy and goals.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that addresses the structural anatomy of the nose — including the bone, cartilage, and soft tissue — to achieve improved proportion and function. It is one of the most technically demanding procedures in facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Honrado employs piezotome ultrasonic technology for nasal bone work, allowing precise ostectomy with minimized soft tissue trauma compared to traditional osteotomy techniques. Open or closed approach is selected based on the individual anatomical requirements of each case.
The procedure may address the nasal dorsum (bridge), nasal tip projection and definition, nostril width and shape, nasal deviation, or breathing impairment related to the internal anatomy. Each case presents a unique anatomical profile that guides the surgical plan.
Candidacy for rhinoplasty is evaluated during a consultation and depends on factors including nasal anatomy, skin thickness, prior nasal history, overall facial proportions, and the patient's goals. A formal evaluation with Dr. Honrado is required to determine whether the procedure is appropriate.
First week
Days 1–7
Splint in place. Most patients experience swelling and bruising around the eyes and nose. Activity is significantly restricted. Sleeping with the head elevated is recommended.
Splint removal
Typically around day 7–10
The external splint is removed at Dr. Honrado's discretion based on healing. Most patients are comfortable in public settings by week two, though residual swelling remains.
Weeks 2–6
Weeks 2–6
Most non-strenuous daily activities may be resumed. Most patients are cleared to return to strenuous exercise around four to six weeks after surgery, at Dr. Honrado's discretion, while contact sports and any activity with a risk of nasal trauma are typically avoided for approximately three months. Swelling continues to resolve gradually.
Final result
Approximately 12 months
Final nasal refinement becomes apparent as residual swelling fully resolves. The nasal tip, in particular, may take up to 12 months to show its final contour. Individual healing varies.
