Accessibility Statement
Carlo P. Honrado, M.D., Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. This statement was last updated on May 16, 2026.
Our Commitment
Dr. Carlo Honrado’s practice is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our website in conformance with applicable standards, and we view accessibility as an ongoing effort.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
This website is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. We are actively working toward full compliance and strive to adhere to the following accessibility principles:
- Perceivable: Information and interface components are presented in ways users can perceive.
- Operable: Interface components and navigation are operable by keyboard and other assistive technologies.
- Understandable: Information and operation of the interface is understandable.
- Robust: Content is robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of assistive technologies.
Technical Specifications
This website is built with accessibility in mind. The following technologies are relied upon for conformance:
- HTML5 with semantic structure and ARIA landmark roles
- CSS with sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
- Keyboard-navigable interface with visible focus indicators
- Skip-to-main-content link for keyboard and screen reader users
- Descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images
- Responsive design that adapts to all screen sizes and zoom levels
- Form labels and error messaging that meet WCAG 2.2 AA criteria
Known Limitations
While we strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website, particularly in the following areas:
- Before-and-after gallery: Some gallery images may not have full descriptive alt text while detailed descriptions are being added. We are actively working to remediate this.
- Animated elements: Some sections include motion animations that respect the user’s
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting where supported. - Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party providers (such as map embeds) may not fully conform to our accessibility standards.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
This website has been designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- High contrast mode
- Voice recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
Accessibility Toolbar
This website includes the CIP-A11Y Accessibility Toolbar — a built-in suite of 12 user-controlled accessibility preferences. Click the purple accessibility button on the left edge of any page to open the toolbar. Your preferences are saved automatically.
- Contrast+ — Enables high-contrast mode with increased text/background contrast
- Highlight Links — Adds visible outlines to all links for easier identification
- Bigger Text — Cycles through 110%, 125%, and 150% text size increase
- Text Spacing — Increases letter and word spacing for easier reading
- Pause Animations — Stops all page animations and transitions
- Hide Images — Hides non-essential images to reduce visual complexity
- Dyslexia Friendly — Switches body text to OpenDyslexic, a font designed to assist readers with dyslexia
- Large Cursor — Applies an enlarged cursor for easier pointer visibility
- Tooltips — Reveals descriptive tooltip text on hover for labelled elements
- Line Height — Doubles line spacing throughout the page
- Text Align — Cycles through left, center, and right text alignment
- Saturation — Converts the page to greyscale (removes color saturation)
Known toolbar limitations: The Hide Images feature suppresses most content images but may not affect all CSS background images or decorative elements. The Large Cursor feature requires a browser that supports custom CSS cursors.
This website targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. Automated testing is supplemented by manual review.
