Dysport

Dysport

Dysport is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe glabellar lines or frown lines between the eyebrows. It is recommended for adults less than 65 years of age.

As opposed to other treatments that result in a “frozen look”, Dysport will temporarily treat the facial muscles in the desired area – between the eyebrows and only between the eyebrows; untreated muscles will keep working as they normally do. Dysports’ results will minimize the frown lines and not minimize your expressions.

Dysport is approved in 57 countries and has 25 years of clinical experience worldwide.

How Does it Work?

Dysport treats lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity.

Dysport will be injected into each of the 5 points between and above eyebrows, temporarily preventing any muscle contraction that cause frown lines in those 5 specific points, leaving the rest of your face untreated and moving naturally with your expressions.

The Treatment

The procedure takes just 10-to-20 minutes and the results can last up to 4 months.

Results are not immediate, and you can expect to see improvement in just 2-3 days after the treatment.

Before the Treatment:

We will first determine if you are a good candidate for this treatment. The candidates should be under 65 years old.

We will review your medical history as well as any ailments or conditions that may prevent you from undergoing this procedure.

We don’t recommend this treatment ff you are allergic to cow’s milk protein or have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product such as Myobloc, Botox or Xeomin.

This procedure shouldn’t be performed if you have a skin infection in the desired area of application.

The treatment area will be cleaned with alcohol to prevent any type of infection. In some cases, a local anesthetic will be used to numb the treatment area.

During the Treatment:

The treatment process consists of one injection into five sites that run above and between the eyebrows.

After the Treatment:

The results of Dysport are typically seen within 24 to 48 hours and they last for four to five months.

We will instruct of any precautions you should take after the treatment is completed. There is little to no downtime.

Some side effects of the treatment include pain and reaction in the injection site, headache, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, nausea.

As with any botulinum toxin products, you should wait at least 90 days between treatments.
